The board rolled out on Monday 30th October. NHS Golden Jubilee Chief Executive Gordon James commented, “At NHS Golden Jubilee we are always looking for new and innovative ways to improve our services for patients and our staff, and Scan for Safety will help us – and the NHS as a whole – to transform some of our services.”

He continues, “Results from other health boards around the UK are already showing fantastic benefits such as significantly more hours of staff time saved, that is released for patient care, as well as cost savings which are win-wins for everyone.”

Steven Friel is the Scan for Safety Lead at the board, and comments, “Scan for Safety is a very user-friendly technology and importantly, it should streamline a number of our processes as we benefit from its automation from day 1. Applying this technology into the point of care setting should result in multiple benefits for our board over time – the potential is down to all of us in how we make the most of this data capturing technology.”

NHS Golden Jubilee will become the first NHS Scotland board to roll out to multiple departments as two further areas are scheduled to commence Scan for Safety later this month – Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology.
